AP Series End of Life

If you’re a Sophos AP Series customer you may well know that there’s an important milestone fast approaching for the many Sophos Wi-Fi customers using the legacy AP Series models: 15, 15C, 55, 55C, 100, 100C, 100X. The deadline is 31st December 2023 when these models will all go end of life. While your AP will not immediately stop working on that date, Sophos plan to remove support from each platform in a future software release. Sophos reach out with the last supported software versions once defined. Any use of the AP Series after the EOL date is at users own risk.

BUT DON’T PANIC! Here at Twelve Times we want to help! We offer solutions from many vendors including Sophos, and having engineers who’ve been in the firewall sector for over 25 years we can help you find the right solution for your setup. Reach out to us today to discuss your requirements

Sophos have launched the new Wi-Fi 6/6E access points, the AP6 Series, and offer the first full range of indoor and outdoor access points for management exclusively from the Sophos Central platform. A local management option is also available for an individual AP6. Understanding that this is a change for customers who have managed their Wi-Fi from their firewall or UTM for many years, Sophos are doing this partly to improve efficiency for customers. With Sophos Firewall and Sophos Switch management fully integrated into Sophos Central, the single platform approach is an opportunity to improve efficiency: why use multiple consoles when all you need is one? Wi-Fi 6/6E is the best choice for broad device support, excellent data rates, and enhanced security. Together with 2.5G switches, Wi-Fi 6 access points help you to prevent network bottlenecks for an overall better Wi-Fi experience.
